Mankind pursue happiness. "Whatever makes you happy" is a phrase that I often hear to inspire or to motivate someone to go do something in life.
That is not from God. Jesus never taught that. Jesus himself did not seek his happiness.
I must not confuse "pleasing God" with "making God happy" (in the same way as making someone happy). God does not seek "happiness". He is above that in ways I do not and can never understand. "Pleasing God" is obeying him. "Making God happy" misses the point of following him.
Whatever I do, I cannot make God "happy nor unhappy". God does not need anything or anyone to make him "happy".
