Life consists mostly of small stuff. Big stuff gets all the headlines, but small stuff fills hours, days, weeks, and years. Insisting perfection on small stuff made relationships more difficult.
As I get older, my life feels a bit better as I stop over-worrying small stuff. When something does not meet my expectation, is it small stuff or big stuff? If small stuff, is it consequential or just annoying? If inconsequential, I ought not make a fuss.
This way, I annoy others less and I get upset less. Win win. And when I get upset less frequently, life is more enjoyable.
I ought to make the small stuff enjoyable as best I can, without insisting perfection on others. I do not always succeed, but I try.
