Different mindset

What people truly believe about their after-death determines how they live their lives. They may not be aware of it, because this is not something they think deeply about. Most decisions are influenced by prior decisions that are based on certain assumptions. And many life decisions are influenced by assumptions or beliefs about after-death.

Many people maximise their efforts on worldly gains while some dedicate their lives to do God's will. God's will does not exclude disciples from worldly comfort, but the objective is his will, in the here and now, and his way not my way.

It is a different mindset. Do I choose mammon or God? This is something I need to be conscious in my daily thoughts and decisions. What does it mean to choose God for X, Y, and Z?

And I ought to think beyond today. My decisions today will influence future decisions. I ought to choose wisely.

"No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon [money, possessions, fame, status, or whatever is valued more than the Lord]."

~ Matthew 6.24 AMP
