"In those days, when the boy Samuel was serving the LORD under the direction of Eli, there were very few messages from the LORD, and visions from him were quite rare."

The Law of Moses was well known in those days. The LORD's commands were already clear and new messages from him were few and visions quite rare. What about in these days? Are they still "few and quite rare"?

His commands are as clear as ever. And mankind has more tools to read and study the commands.

But mankind's heart is still as problematic as ever.
