Whose plan?
"The Philistines attacked, and after fierce fighting they defeated the Israelites and killed about 4,000 men on the battlefield. When the survivors came back to camp, the leaders of Israel said, “Why did the LORD let the Philistines defeat us today? Let's go and bring the LORD's Covenant Box from Shiloh, so that he will go with us and save us from our enemies.” So they sent messengers to Shiloh and fetched the Covenant Box of the LORD Almighty, who is enthroned above the winged creatures."
~ 1 Samuel 4.2-4 GNB
The Israelites did not inquire from the LORD of what he wanted to do. They thought they could force his hand to fulfill their plan.
Why should God do what I ask outside his plan? His plan is far superior and will accomplish his purpose. Instead of forcing his hand, as if it can ever work, I ought to bend my will to follow his will.
