Desperate for God (3)

"So the priest gave David the sacred bread, because the only bread he had was the loaves offered to God, which had been removed from the sacred table and replaced by fresh bread."

Jesus recalled this story to the Pharisees as they nitpicked Jesus' disciples action on a Sabbath. The sacred bread was consecrated for God and then to be eaten by the priests.

David's situation was very different from that of the disciples. David and his few men were on the run for their lives. They had nowhere to go and no food. And the priest, even with what might be a wrong motive at the time, did not turn them away. He gave his meal to David and his men.

Through this priest, God made a way out for David and his men to see another day. In desperate situation, do not turn to anyone else but God. He will make a way.
