How not to lead (10)

"The king said, “Ahimelech, you and all your relatives must die.” Then he said to the guards standing near him, “Kill the LORD's priests! They conspired with David and did not tell me that he had run away, even though they knew it all along.” But the guards refused to lift a hand to kill the LORD's priests. So Saul said to Doeg, “You kill them!” — and Doeg killed them all."

~ 1 Samuel 22.16-18 GNB

First Saul made false accusations and then he ignored what the LORD's priest said and killed him, other priests, and their families. The guards knew enough not to do the killing and still Saul refused to do the killing himself. But Doeg was willing to do it for Saul.

At this point, Saul knew that the LORD's hand was protecting David. And yet he was still intent on killing David against the LORD's will. He decided to go against the LORD.
