It is God's choice how and when to bless us.

We may sometimes think we "earned" it, but the fact of the matter is, we do not. It is completely God's grace and mercy.

And sometimes, we are so blessed that we wonder, "do I really earn it / deserve it?" But it is not our decision; it is completely God's decision to give it to us, although we do not earn it.

It has nothing to do with our earning anything.

It has everything to do with what pleases him and what will accomplish his purpose.
