"We do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God." (Romans 8.26-27 ESV)

We have limited knowledge, limited wisdom, and worldly desires. The "mind of the Spirit" knows perfectly the will of God and his plans. I doubt the prayers that our minds conceive are like the prayers that the Spirit conceives for us.

It is as if there are two prayers. There is a version of the prayer as our mind conceives it. And then there is a version of the prayer as the Spirit intercedes for us.

Which prayer do we want God to answer? Our prayer? Or the Spirit's prayer?
