Do not exasperate
Parents "do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord". (Ephesians 6.4 NIV)
Hypocrisy exasperates them. Parents are not excluded from having to walk the talk they give to their children. Jesus talks a lot about hypocrites and not in a positive way. So do not be hypocrites.
Inconsistency exasperates them. They need explanations when parents change their mind on something. Life happens and change happens. Sometimes change is required so we can be consistent to a principle. But often children do not understand this yet, so help them understand.
Lies exasperates them.
It so happens that all of the above also exasperates adults. It would be good to keep them in mind at all times.
