So I guess "I am better than them" does not cut it. If I am not right with God, no matter how much "better than them" I am, I will not go to heaven.

But the reverse is also true. No matter how much "better than me" other people are, if I am right with God, I will go to heaven.

Sure it is nice to be inspired by others' accomplishments, but I ought not compare myself to others so much. I ought to focus on God.
