Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too. Humility is difficult to achieve.

I want to have humility but not humiliation. I want to be humble but not humbled.

As human being, I have the natural tendency of feeding my ego. And that is never a good starting point to be humble and remain humble.

Which is why I got humbled.

I cannot get what I "want" unless I go through what I do not want.

It is a difficult but necessary lesson. If I do not know what it means to be humbled, will I know the true meaning of humility (from human perspective)?
