I know everyone's life story is different. For me, God has made one thing apparent: money and faith need to be consistent.

Stealing will not make me rich. Doing the right thing will not make me poor.

Stealing, no matter how little or big and in whatever form, will not make me rich. Doing the right thing, even when others do not, will not make me poor.

Obedience to God does not always lead to financial prosperity - this is clear. But a command is a command. Regardless, I am to obey.
