True wealth (2)
"There was once a rich man who had land which bore good crops.
He began to think to himself, ‘I haven't anywhere to keep all my crops. What can I do?
This is what I will do,’ he told himself; ‘I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, where I will store my corn and all my other goods.
Then I will say to myself, Lucky man! You have all the good things you need for many years. Take life easy, eat, drink, and enjoy yourself!’"
(Luke 12.16-19 GNB)
The man was rich to start with.
And then with the additional riches he may buy more land and the land produces more crops which then needs more barns. He will need more workers that he needs to manage. His work will consume him that he may not be able to "take life easy".
I do not want to be like this rich man. I do not want to be a hoarder of blessings to keep to myself. I want to be a channel of blessings for others.
The future seems uncertain - I do not know what the future holds. But I trust God.
May the LORD bless you and take care of you;
May the LORD be kind and gracious to you;
May the LORD look on you with favour and give you peace.
(Numbers 6.24-25 GNB)
