"I repeat: it is much harder for a rich person to enter the Kingdom of God than for a camel to go through the eye of a needle."

Some rich people got to be wealthy because they inherit it and thus they grew up accustomed to the lifestyle and mindset of the wealthy. In many cases, they grew the wealth they inherited to be more wealthy. And many rich people started not being rich at all, but worked their way to become wealthy over time. In which case, there is a good chance their mindset also changed over time.

Wealth changes people.

It is interesting Jesus used a camel as a contrast against the rich people. A camel is not an animal that is easy to train. It can be pretty set in their way. And many wealthy people are also set in their own way. The way of the wealthy. The mindset that I earn it. I deserve this or that.

But everything I possess comes from God. And God's provision and blessing are to serve his purpose and his purpose alone. I have not earned nor deserved them, regardless of how hard I toil. I have what I have only by God's grace.

Lord,
I do not want to be a "camel"
I want to have the mindset of Jesus
I want to desire what you desire
