In the face of overwhelming evidence (5)

"Peter and John were still speaking to the people when some priests, the officer in charge of the temple guards, and some Sadducees arrived. They were annoyed because the two apostles were teaching the people that Jesus had risen from death, which proved that the dead will rise to life. So they arrested them and put them in jail .."

(Acts 4.1-3 GNB)

The Sadducees, who did not believe in the resurrection, were annoyed because they had been proven wrong: resurrection was proven in Jesus. They did not care about the proof. They chose to remain in their belief despite seeing the proof that their belief was incorrect.

Those people still exist in different forms in this world in our days. People who choose to ignore the overwhelming evidence.

As Christ' follower, I ought to be on guard and study the difference between cause and effect and to not confuse correlation with causation. And I also ought to be alert and sensitive when the Spirit discloses an overwhelming evidence to God's action.

I want to see and accept what the Spirit shows.
