There are many social norms and cultural "wisdom" that we "listen" to without much question. They seem common sense.

Probably some of them started as common sense for a group of people. But then other groups started to adopt and adapt them. On they went until society accepted them as their norms. And in turn, society wants us to listen to them.

But time changes many things. What worked for many people then may not work too well now for me. Or you.

Jesus challenged the people around him to get back to the heart of the matters and not get hung up on the then social norms. He challenged you and me to focus on God's will.

My job is to seek and understand and follow God's will.
