What defines the "spirit of Christmas"? Christmas decorations? Gift-giving? Parties? Children Christmas production? Candle-lit evening service?

So-called "Christian" puts all the emphasis on the outer appearance when the only thing that matters for a true Christ-follower is "the Spirit" of Christmas.

Some Christians trust in the Christ whose birth is celebrated on Christmas, but they do not obey this Christ. They claim they follow this Christ, but they do not obey "the Spirit".

Christmas or not, the Spirit calls for thankfulness, repentance, love for God, and love for others. Christmas or not, I ought to trust and obey the Spirit.

please help me celebrate Christ' birth
in and through the Spirit
not just on Christmas
but every day
