Good things to come (6)
"What a record all of these have won by their faith! Yet they did not receive what God had promised, because God had decided on an even better plan for us. His purpose was that only in company with us would they be made perfect.
As for us, we have this large crowd of witnesses round us."

What these believers "won by their faith" glorified God and blessed many others. But what they "won" was not necessarily "what God had promised". God's promise is "even better".
I should not fix my hope on what I can understand and see here on earth. God's promise is even better, even if I cannot see it. The faith warriors who have gone before me are the witnesses to this.
“We are not people who turn back and are lost. Instead, we have faith and are saved. To have faith is to be sure of the things we hope for, to be certain of the things we cannot see.”
