To Christ be the glory
“May he, through Jesus Christ, do in us what pleases him. And to Christ be the glory for ever and ever!”
(Hebrews 13.21 GNB)
In small talks or big speeches, many people boast to make themselves look good. And many get offended when we question their claims. Or when someone make a bigger claim in response, they retort offensively.
The praises of others feel nice, but can get me into trouble. “To Christ be the glory” is not just because he deserves all of it, but also because it is good for me to focus my attention to his glory, instead of mine.
“Pride goes before destruction, and haughtiness before a fall.”
(Proverbs 16.18 NLT)
