"Misdirected" from whose perspective? "They" surely think we are the ones who are "misdirected". It is us versus them.

But God knows the truth!

It is important for me to read God's words, listen to him, and listen to others perspectives. I ought not be selective for my own benefit, but to put others' needs in context of what God reveals.

Doing "God's work" for my benefit is not doing his work. Do God's work for him and him only.
