Known by its fruit (3)

"Once more he visited Cana in Galilee, where he had turned the water into wine. And there was a certain royal official whose son lay ill at Capernaum. When this man heard that Jesus had arrived in Galilee from Judea, he went to him and begged him to come and heal his son, who was close to death. ..."

~ John 4.46-54 NIVUK

The royal official was not a believer. But he heard good things about Jesus that brought him hope, so he sought Jesus. And in the process, "he and his whole household believed".

Note that this very miracle is only "the second miraculous sign Jesus did in Galilee after coming from Judea." So the royal official only knew of one prior miracle. Nonetheless, he had hope that someone who lived as Jesus lived, would be merciful to him - a non-believer - and would come to his rescue.

So it is with me. I pray my life brings hope to others and glorifies Jesus.
