When discussing the book of Jonah, frequently the discussions revolve around the interactions between God and Jonah. But there is another message that I cannot overlook.

No matter how evil some people are, God still extends his grace and mercy to them when they turn to God. And in the book of Jonah, those people heard the message and turned to God. And God proved to them that he is the God who keeps his promise of forgiveness.

Jesus also referred to the story of Jonah. Although how it was explained was for a different context, I notice a parallel. The message that Jonah brought to Nineveh was a precursor of the message that Jesus brought. Believe God, turn to him, and he will forgive.
