Faith that dominates

"[Paul] turned round and said to the spirit, “In the name of Jesus Christ I order you to come out of her!” The spirit went out of her that very moment.

When her owners realised that their chance of making money was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them to the authorities in the public square. They brought them before the Roman officials and said, “These men are Jews, and they are causing trouble in our city. They are teaching customs that are against our law; we are Roman citizens, and we cannot accept these customs or practise them.”"

(Acts 16.18-21 GNB)

Poke people's money making machine and they will show you their true faith in God. True back in the day and still true now.

Some believers can compartmentalise their faith - segregating faith to just Sundays or only when hanging out with fellow believers - and do whatever it takes to make money or advance in their career. Even when it is inconsistent with their faith.

Maybe their faith in Jesus Christ does not dominate their faith in money.

I understand this from experience. It is indeed difficult to live in this world without money.

But I am taught that Jesus Christ is bigger. "The waves and wind still know his name" and he takes care of me. My faith ought to dominate any faith in money.

Lord,
please help me daily
that my faith in Jesus will dominate any other faith
