Extend grace (3)

Yesterday, I used an online ride hailing service. The car ran out of petrol on the road! That was truly unbelievable, but it happened. Thankfully, the driver was able to get some petrol and we resumed our trip. But the route that the driver's app took us was odd and slow. That made me even more agitated.

I was sure I was going to be late. I had the right to be angry and in the past I sure would have been angry. But yesterday, I let it be. I did not get angry at the driver.

I asked God for help to be graceful in dealing with the situation.

Well, guess what? I could not believe it, but, miraculously, I was only three minute late. And I arrived before my friends.

I very often get agitated when things do not go as I have planned. A better way is for me to appreciate others and focus on the big picture. Sometimes the details change, but as long as I accomplish what God intends for me to accomplish, that is okay.

I ought to be graceful to others. And to myself.
